Quality Hotel, Hyde Park, is first to adopt Genesis over coax

 

The Quality Hotel Hyde Park, has an international reputation for value and excellence among business and leisure travellers alike. On 8th August 2005, The Quality Hotel took delivery of the first ever Genesis system to be operated in a coax environment. In addition, Quadriga equipped each of the 74 rooms in this popular 3 star hotel with the latest LCD TVs. Malcolm Linforth-Jones, Director of Operations for the Group, is delighted with the success.

 

‘The installation of new screens into all rooms was handled seamlessly and with highest levels of professionalism, ensuring minimal disruption to our guests during one of the busiest holiday periods of the year,’ he said. ‘We have been very encouraged by the extremely positive response of our guests, who have commented on the advanced in-room service that gives them the same control and choice they get at home.’

 

Increased revenue
Revenue performance, at a time Malcolm expected guests to be out and about, has shown that the system is encouraging guests to investigate what it has in offer.

 

‘We’ve definitely seen high purchase levels of the internet on TV service and Quadriga’s unique “special offer” bundled service package. We’ve even started to promote it at check-in.’

 

Cost effective, flexible and easy to use
One of the main attractions of the new Genesis system was the fact that no re-cabling was required – something that would otherwise have cost around £12,000. And that’s before you take into account the costs of disruption and loss of revenue while the work was completed.

‘We have had Genesis running on a Cat 5 network in Country Inns and Suites for approx 3 years now,’ explained Malcolm. ‘We didn’t think we’d be able to offer the same superior level of in-room service to our guests at Quality Hyde Park because we didn’t have the cable infrastructure to support it. With Genesis on any Network, that’s not a problem any more.’

‘Quadriga now has an offering which suits the infrastructure of every single one of our hotels. It means that we can provide our guests with same range of entertainment and communication services that we provide at our other Hotels, as a consistent brand standard.
